“Should I stay or should I go?”

Many people ask that question each day. Deciding whether to seek a divorce is not something you should do alone.

That’s where I come in.

I am here to listen, help you ask the right questions, and guide you through the divorce process – if now is the right time for you to end your marriage. I understand and gladly embrace the trust that you place in me.

Divorce is much more than a legal event – it is a complete and total life transition.

In my years as a divorce attorney, I have learned that many people don’t know where to start. Understanding South Carolina’s many divorce and child custody laws is more of an “art” than a science. The stress of a failing relationship can make it even harder to know what you should do.

My desire to help people — when they are most vulnerable – started when I was working to become an Eagle Scout. I learned then how important it is to stand up for what is right, even if I am the only person standing. And, in your divorce or child custody case, I will be standing up for you each step of the way.

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in criminology and criminal justice. In 2008, I received my law degree from the University of Memphis. Since then, I have devoted myself as a lawyer to giving help and hope to hurting people.

I am honored to be a part of the Peck Law Firm. Each of our lawyers and paralegals brings a different set of skills and experience to our team effort. Working together, we will combine our skills to represent you in a manner that no other Charleston family law firm can match.

You can reach me directly through email at [email protected], by phone at 843-800-2928 , or schedule an appointment directly on my calendar at https://calendly.com/tsmithatpecklaw/30min/.

Here’s What Clients Are Saying About Tom Smith

“Mr. Smith was very patient with us and willing to do whatever we needed. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. He was also very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all of our questions. I am very happy with the services he provided.”

– by Melissa

“Thomas a. Smith Is a wonderful attorney. He represented me in a NC&SC Custody matter. He got me my son back. I was a victim of someone who maliciously used to judicial system to handle a civil matter. Also I was pressed on time because I had only two business days to prepare for a emergency custody appeal. Thomas a. Smith was adamant on doing everything he can to assure I had the best defense possible. He worked through his Labor Day weekend and sacrificed his own family time. He was also very thorough and professional in the court room. I also will say in the situation that I was in. I had a uphill battle and he came through with a slam dunk!!”

– by Jackson P.

“This law firm will give you the best advice possible and is 100% upfront with you about whatever the situation is at hand. Definitely recommend this law firm!”

– by Misty M.

“The Peck Law Firm was very helpful in supplying me with the information and advice that I needed. Very professional yet personable at the same time, I really enjoyed my experience. He took the time out of his day to advise me on a topic that I knew little about, and at the end of our conversation I felt like I had known him for years. Highly recommend this firm.”

“I couldn’t have asked for more from Tom. He handled my business professionally and was able to take care of my charges before court. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy lawyer.”
