An AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell indicates that a lawyer has the highest level of ethical standards and legal ability. Only the lawyers who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence earn this award.

The rating is obtained from surveys of a lawyer’s peers in a variety of geographic locations. From the responses, Martindale-Hubbell may rate a lawyer AV Preeminent (the highest award), BV Distinguished, or Rated.
