Southern Living’s Taste of Charleston is arguably the finest culinary event of the year. This month, everyone’s favorite food festival returns for its thirty-third year.
Over three days, Taste of Charleston offers an exciting culinary experience to Mt. Pleasant residents and visitors.
The main event, held at Historic Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, is sure to delight all that attend. The event will feature samplings from fifty of the area’s best casual and fine dining restaurants, a specialty and imported beer tasting tent, live entertainment from The Piedmont Boys, the “Waiter’s Race,” and a children’s area that includes acrobatics, dancing, crafts, and more.
The main event is set to be held on September 29 at 10:30 a.m. Admission to this event costs between $17.50 and $25.

Sweet & Southern on Shem Creek will feature performances from acclaimed singers and songwriters. Guests will enjoy live music from these artists while being treated to delicious cuisine. Admission to this event costs $50. Sweet & Southern on Shem Creek is scheduled to take place on September 27 at 6 p.m.
The Iron Chef Competition will pit a number of talented local chefs against each other in an exciting culinary battle. This event will be held at the Culinary Institute of Charleston at Palmer Campus on September 28 at 6 p.m.
Throughout the three-day festival, the Taste of Charleston Dine Around will give area residents the opportunity to enjoy a three-course menu paired with a specialty or craft beer. Tickets are not required.
