Few holiday displays are more magical and exciting than the Charleston Holiday Festival of Lights. Each year, the James Island County Park lights up more than two million lights. The park’s enchanting light display covers three miles!
The festival is the perfect family outing this holiday season, and I encourage you to take your kids. Who knows? This festival might just become a new holiday tradition for your family.
The park allows you to drive your car or take a train ride to see the 700 light displays. In addition to the tour, the park also offers a marshmallow roast, interactive activities, a walking trail, carousel rides, a climbing wall, and photos with Santa. You can also visit the gift shops and enjoy the concerts held by the park.
The Holiday Festival of Lights is a nationally recognized event beloved by both Charleston residents and visitors. The event has been featured as a top holiday celebration by Coastal Living, the Southeast Tourism Society, the American Bus Association, and Moscow’s Festival of Festivals.
The Holiday Festival of Lights will be open until Dec. 31. It is located at James County Park at 871 Riverland Drive in Charleston. For more information, visit the festival website.
Make sure to dress warmly and allow your family plenty of time to explore the light displays and park activities. You won’t want to miss anything that this festival has to offer!
