It’s really no surprise that readers of Condé Nast, the publisher behind some of most prestigious magazines in the country, have consistently voted Charleston as the number one tourist destination in the U.S. for the last three years.
Charleston and nearby Mount Pleasant host innumerable events that are exciting for residents and visitors alike. One of my favorite events is the Patriot’s Point Fourth of July Blast.
The Fourth of July spectacular has been called “one of the best Fourth of July parties” by The New York Times, according to the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. This Independence Day celebration will be like no other, as the fireworks will launch from the flight deck of the WWII aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.
The Fourth of July Blast will begin with reduced admission to the Patriot’s Point museum, which showcases exciting exhibits and tours of the USS Yorktown, USS Clamagore, USS Laffey, Medal of Honor Museum, Cold War Memorial, Vietnam Support Base, and military aircraft. The museum will offer discounted admission from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the event.
During the Fourth of July Blast, families can also enjoy a block party atmosphere complete with sandwiches, snacks, water, soda, and live entertainment.
The fireworks show, which will start after the sun sets, promises to be fun for all ages.
I encourage you to attend one of the most exciting summer events in the area, and I wish your family a fun, safe holiday.
